Regionals are done. The State field is set: 184 teams and 368 individuals across eight races, all of them earned on Saturday at Troy, Pickerington, Boardman and Tiffin.
Podium Watch now takes exactly that field and scores it. The Mock State hub puts every qualifier in one race per division and runs the meet on the time each runner posted at regionals on Oct. 31. No season bests, no guesses about who might qualify. The real State lineup, the real times from the last race they ran.
It is a projection, not a result. The real races go off Saturday, Nov. 7 at Fortress Obetz.
How it works
- The field is the official one. The teams and individuals are the State qualifiers exactly as Athletic.net posted them from the regional results. Nobody is added, dropped or moved.
- Every runner carries their regional time. A runner who ran 16:06 on Saturday runs 16:06 in the mock meet. The four regional courses are different, and the times are not course-adjusted, so a fast course helps and a slow course hurts. Keep that in mind when you read it.
- Standard cross country scoring. Five score, sixth and seventh displace, and a team-score tie goes to the team whose sixth runner finished higher. Individual qualifiers run in the finish order but never take a point away from a team runner, the same way they do not at the real State meet.
- Labeled on every page. Each division section says "Projected, not official" with the date and time the regional results were pulled.
What it projects
Every number below is the mock meet's output, not a result. Open the hub for the full finish order, the team-by-team scoring and the individual qualifiers in every division.
Boys. Division I: Springboro 92, Mason 105, Beavercreek 156.5. Division II: Bowling Green 133, Lexington 140.5, Big Walnut 173.5. Division III: Woodridge 70, Fairless 117, Versailles 150.5, with Brice Fuller of Fairless carrying the fastest regional time in the field at 14:49.4. Division IV: Mount Gilead and Russia both score 98, and the tie goes to Mount Gilead on the sixth runner. Legacy Christian is third at 156.
Girls. Division I: Upper Arlington 110.5, Milford 128, Springboro 155.5. Division II: Watterson 75, Fremont Ross 156, Aurora 177. Division III: Oakwood 111, Huron 125, Minerva 191. Division IV: Liberty Center 113, Grandview Heights 150.5, Ottawa Hills 174, with Natalie Nixon of Ottawa Hills holding the fastest regional time in the Division IV girls field at 17:28.7.
Mount Gilead and Russia at 98 apiece is the one to watch. They qualified out of different regionals, Mount Gilead at Pickerington and Russia at Troy, on two different courses. Saturday settles it on one.
What else is on the hub
The same page holds the official results from all 30 regional races: team scores, places and State qualifiers as posted, with a "projected vs. actual" box on each card showing which teams Podium Watch's pre-race projection called correctly and which ones it missed. The district tab still has every Oct. 24 district site.
Podium Watch's own season-best model, the Mock Meets projection built before the postseason started, is still available here if you want to compare the two.
The official results of the OHSAA State Championships will be posted on Saturday, Nov. 7, after each race. Until then, this is the closest look at the State meet you can get.
